Day 28, August 8...In Anchorage

Not a lot to report today.  I spent the day in Anchorage.  Took the bike over to the Harley dealer to get an oil change and a general check-over.  Passed with flying colors...not bad with over 140,000 miles on the clock.  Then I went and got a haircut.  Feels like I've been sheared.

I did go to the Alaska Heritage Museum at the headquarters of Wells Fargo.  They had a bunch of Native American artifacts...baskets, a kayak, fur parkas, and the normal description of how the white man ruined their culture.  Seeing a lot of that up here.  Anyway, here's a couple pics from the museum:

Some baskets.  Really nicely done...

A pretty quiet day.  Tomorrow, I'm headed south again to the town of Alyeska, the Portage Glacier, and Whittier.  Should be some pretty scenery.

Weather is good, although they're calling for rain the next couple days.

Miles today:  26
Total:        6,622
