I left Cranbrook this morning and headed south on Hwy 95 toward the US Border crossing about 70 miles away. The terrain was pretty hilly and heavily wooded and there were only a couple small towns before the border. Not really much to take a picture of and not many places to pull over to get any pics.
I crossed into the good ol' US of A near Kingsgate, BC and headed down US 95 to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Coeur d'Alene is a city of about 45,000 people located in a rather hilly area with lots of lakes for boating and fishing. From there I picked up I-90 and headed west toward Yakima, WA.

And here are a few I took along US2 and Washington Hwy 28. As you can see, this is very flat country and it's very dry:
I did get a couple nice pictures of the Columbia River from I-90:
Tomorrow should be more interesting. I'm headed west to Mt. St. Helens, the volcano that blew in 1980 and covered the state in ash. I was there in 2010 and it's quite a sight.
